About The Project
Thinking about twilight made me think of endings, also of beauty, and of deep colours, dusk.
This started me thinking about my nana who died last year, but not in a sad way, thinking of the joy she had, how the final years of her life had been a pleasant and happy. I knew that for my nana this had been based on her very happy marriage, somehow they never argued, not even once.
It set me thinking about how her marriage had been the dawn of her happy years as her retirement had been the dusk or twilight. So in this image I included photo's taken from both their wedding and their diamond wedding anniversary. I used transparency to enable both photo's to be seen at the same time.
I set the photo's over a purple background as for me purple is the colour of twilight. This background was made by setting flood fill to pattern sourced with a fractal I had generated, I then used wind and ripple distortions to create the smudged background effect
