Touch Me

I laugh out loud, or fend you off
with shallow words and smiles.
I seem to need nobody,
bold and brash but acting all the time.
Touch me.

I built a wall
to hide behind to keep away the pain.
I wear a mask to fool the world
and in the process fool myself again.
Touch me please.

Pull down my defences,
tear away the mask, knock down the wall.
It's time to take the risk, to feel the rain
to see the rainbow following the storm.
Touch me teach me how to live.
