About The Project
My initial thoughts were about whispers, how they were soft, gentle like a kiss. Then I thought about pearl, which brought up the concepts of glowing, shining, and that gave me the initial idea for the poem.
Once the poem was written I wanted to create an image containing the goddess. As the image that I associate most strongly with the goddess is the moon I decided to create an image of the godess in the moon.
I began by creating the moon. A simple circle filled with a wood bark pattern. I added a second layer, flood filled with pale blue then reducedthe opacity and merged the 2 layers. I added a sunburst effect, then used a cut out effect to add some depth to the moon. Merged all layers then used a soften tool around the edge of the moon.
On a new layer I drew an eye, with bezier curves, mouse drawing and gaussian layers, I duplicated the eye layer and flipped. On another layer I drew the mouth, and used the darken and lighten tools to give it some definition. Then I drew the nose using the air brush at reduced density and opacity, I shaded the nose with the airbrush and gaussian blur. Then I merged all the face layers
On a new layer I outlined the hair and drew strands with the airbrush in 3 colours. I filled the entire hair area on a seperate layer with my medium hair colour. On the strands layer I applied a gaussian blur, then an eye candy fur effect, then pulled out strands with the smudge brush. I merged the head and face layers and dragged them underneath the moon layerand reduced the opacity on the moon layer untill the face could just be seen.
I then added another layer filled with black and sent it to the bottom. I created the clouds with 5 shades of grey and the airbrush size 100 reduced density and opacity. I put each grey on a seperate layer then used gaussian blur on each layer, merged the cloud layers and applied a sparkle filter.
Finally I added the text and made a gold frame.
