My first thoughts on seeing the set topic grapes gloss/ was about grapes, their colours their textures, their sweetness. When I thought about gloss I thought of paint, so maybe grape coloured paint.
Then I started to think how gloss was the outer shine, the sheen the painted face we put on for the world. So I thought maybe I could do something with glossy clothes. Then I remembered 2 digital dolls I had drawn recently, one of catgirl one of an air elemental and how they shone, as if they were painted with gloss.
So I decided to combine all the ideas, I colorised bat girl green and the air elemental purple, On a seperate image I converted each into a repeating tile on a white background, then I shifted the tile for one of them by half the image in height.
I pasted one tile onto the other image as a new layer and chose to use the exclude layer blend method, this inverted all the colours so now we had purple grape catwoman, and green grape air elemental
I opened a new 6090 by 600 image and used the "grape People" image as a fill pattern set at 50%, I then applied a circle deformation to give, duplicated the layer 2 times, removing the black on 2 of the layers.
I moved the 2 top layers around untill my grape people filled the bowl area and deleted any that overlapped the edge of circular area. Merged all layers then duplicated. Used colour replacer to change the black to a third nice wine grape colour and deleted any of this that fell outside the grape itself. There we have one giant glossy grape.
