The chakras or energy centres are located in the body where the major lines of enegy intersect with each other. There are seven Major Chakras, the Crown, Brow, Throat, Heart, solar Plexus Sacral and Root Chakras

Each chakra carries a different colour, being responsible for that colour note within your auric field. When working with or healing chakras use a crystal of the appropriate colour as indicated by the table below.

Root	red, brown, and mauve	smoky quartz, garnet, ruby, bloodstone, onyx, tiger's eye, or rose quartz
Sacral	orange, amber and gold colour notes	amber, citrine, topaz, aventurin, moonstone, or jasper
Solar Plexus	yellow, gold, and rose	yellow citrine, calcite, kunzite, rose quarts, iron pyrites, topaz, and malachite
Heart	spring green, rose, and rose amethyst	emerald, green calcite, azurite, jade, or rose and watermelon tourmalines
Throat	blue, silver, and turquoise	lapis lazuli, aquamarine, sodalite, turquoise, or sapphire
Brow	indigo, turquoise, and mauve	amethyst, purple apatite, azurite, calcite, pearl, sapphire, or blue and white fluorite
Crown	violet, white, and gold	diamond, white tourmaline, white jade, snowy quartz, or celestite

If using Terminated crystals hold the directive or pointed end over the chacra petal for 2 or 3 minutes whilst concentrating on breathing deeply into the chakra. Non faceted crystals can be held or placed over the chakra.
