Bronze Ripple

In the dim light I saw him,
Every contour outlined in the glow
The very sight of him took my breath away
As I trembled a bronze ripple

About The Project

The given topic Bronze/Ripple made me think about rippling muscles and I considered doing an image of a male torso. But I just couldn't set to it so I started thinking about ripples and in the end decided to do an image of my bronze hunk diving into the ripple

The diver is a hand drawn line art sketch which I scanned in then coloured and shaded in psp7. The ripple I created with flaming pears flood filter, then made the divers reflection by applying a seperate flood filter to the diver layer alone and playing with the settings untill I found something I liked.

I then added a lighting effect and once again messed with the settings dragging the light source around until I found a soft glow that I liked. I then applied a frame I had made previously and recoloured it, then added the same lighting effect to the frame layer.

The poem was very last minute, it just sprang into my mind as I was putting the image on to this web page, it reminded me in a strange way of those novels where the heroine goes weak at the knees and trembly in the presence of her hero.
