Born 18th July 2001 Bella the Jack Russell came to us when she was six weeks old. A happy energetic bundle of love Bella has fit well into our family allthough she has proved to be extremely resistant to toilet training.
Bella's developement appeared to be normal but by the age of 8 months she still had not lost her puppy clumsiness, was not properly toilet trained and seemed to have developed an unusual way of moving.
On 17th April 2001 the vets told me that Bella has brain damage, or more specifically damage to her motor neuron cortex this is what causes her clumsiness, her unusual movements and probarbly her failure to toilet train properly.
My first reaction was devastation and I made this doll to express my grief. But once I calmed down I realised nothing has changed she's still the same loveable energetic bundle of love she always was she'll just always be clumsy and probarbly never fully toiled trained. But we will always love her.
Bella unfortunately deteriorated every year and on the 27th May 2004 the vet and I agreed that it was time to let her go. One of the hardest decisions I have ever made but in the end the only fair thing to do.
